Using Version 3.3.9 as admin
I added the ad entension I think ( it was few months ago) in a skeleton test forum
Seems to work ok . The ad. is displayed fine in the bottom as I chose.
I do not remember if there is a way to rotate the ads in given time intervals
I tested only one ad.
In this forum for example it only shows one ad in the bottom for hosting.
Can you give links to some phpBB forums with rotating ads ?
