delete vendor okay.
re-upload?
the whole thing?
I only just did it. Took all morning. Thousands of folders.
Have some got modified since I attempted to run /install ?
Can't we isolate it down to just a few that might need re-uploading?

p.s. I just got a bit cheeky maybe and deleted the /vendor and then without reuploading everything navigated to /install again and got this:

Fatal error: Composer dependencies have not been set up yet, run 'php ../composer.phar install' from the phpBB directory to do so. in /srv/disk6/1393753/www/mblforum.com/includes/startup.php on line 80

if it makes any difference to how I should/could best proceed?

edit: I took a look in startup.php and the error comes from there because it is looking for a file in /vendor and of course I just deleted /vendor.

looks like I am entirely on the wrong path.

My root concern of course is my data. The existing posts on my forum. I suppose they are all safely tucked away in the SQL database on my host's server? On way or the other I'll get phpbb up again and I'll be able to access those posts again? Someone please assure me of that?

p.s. I thought I was updating from 3.1 but on checking it's actually 3.2. Got misled because a friend said he'd updated my database to 3.3.11

So I checked the instructions and it doesn't seem to matter. They both require full install download, both require the same dirs deleted from the download, the same dirs deleted from the site. Seems to be no difference that I can see.

I am not sure what 'updated the db' means. Updated the SQL db I suppose? What significance does that have, if any, to the update for the board process I'm trying to follow here?
