We did check the OP’s anti-spam settings. If the anti spambot measures had been turned off there would be a record in the admin log like [Altered anti-spambot settings].
I see you’re using one of the squiggly letter type captchas that was beaten years ago, it’s of no use. You should activate the Q&A + the Newly Registered User (NRU) group. The consensus is that this combination will stop 99% of spambot registration attempts.
